Editorial roles
Work with Aleik
We pair AI with expert human judgment. Our editors are the reason Aleik produces articles that read like they were written by someone who actually understands the science — because they are.
The role
As a freelance editor at Aleik, you review AI-generated articles before delivery. You check for scientific accuracy, logical coherence, and clarity of argument. You do not rewrite — you judge, annotate, and approve.
Work is asynchronous, remote, and article-by-article. You set your own availability.
Who we're looking for
We welcome applications from researchers and scholars across disciplines. The work rewards breadth as much as depth — an ability to read critically outside your primary field is a genuine asset.
- PhD-level background in any natural science, life science, or engineering field
- PhD-level background in history, philosophy, linguistics, or the social sciences
- Experience reading and evaluating primary research literature
- Strong written English — precise, economical, and unafraid of nuance
- Comfort with ambiguity and an interest in science communication
What makes a good fit
You do not need to be a professional science writer. You do need to be the kind of person who notices when a causal claim outruns its evidence, or when a study's limitation has been quietly omitted.
We value intellectual range. A classicist who also reads papers on cognitive science is exactly the kind of editor we want.
Compensation
Editors are paid per article reviewed. Rates are set by discipline, article complexity, and review depth. Details are shared during the application process.
